With more than 30 years of experience in the patent industry, Martin has a deep understanding of how global patent systems work. Martin assists clients in identifying valuable IP in their businesses and developing strategies with them to best protect their position and meet their business objectives.

As a Partner of Madderns, and Leader of Madderns’ Information and Communications Technology team, Martin works with clients involved in cutting edge technology, whether it be mobile communications technologies, building control protocols or cochlear implants. With a background in electronic engineering and communications, he is recognised for his technical knowledge in these complex areas.

Martin regularly speaks about patents to business, academic, and legal audiences, and has been a guest lecturer and Casual Academic at various Universities.

The respected international journal, Managing Intellectual Property, has also listed Martin as a patent “IP Star” every year since 2014.
