The Decade of Change: Leading with Intention
We are told that the next ten years will bring as much change as the last hundred. I believe that. I have watched it happen already — in how we hire, how we communicate, how we build trust, and how we compete. The businesses that survive this kind of change are not the ones with the best strategy on paper. They are the ones with the most intentional leaders.
In this keynote, I draw on my years building RedBalloon and the other businesses I work with to unpack what it really takes to lead well right now. This is not theory. It is a practical framework, grounded in current trends, recent events, and real case studies, for building teams that are resilient and high performing, even when the ground keeps shifting under them.
We will talk about leading with empathy, because people do their best work when they feel safe enough to be honest. We will talk about psychological safety, not as a soft add-on but as the foundation accountability is built on. And we will talk about navigating blended and distributed workplaces without losing the connection and purpose that make people want to stay.
Leaders who walk away from this session will have concrete tools to build curiosity, drive accountability, and create a culture that gives their business a genuine competitive edge. Because leadership, done well, is not accidental. It is intentional. And if it is to be, it is up to us.
