Beyond Compliance: Turning Psychosocial Safety Into Everyday Practice
26 Nov 2026
Seminar Theatre 4
Psychosocial safety is becoming an increasingly important business responsibility, yet many leaders are being asked to navigate an area they were never formally taught. We learn how to manage performance, budgets, customers, operations and strategy. But how many leaders have ever been taught how to understand their own wellbeing, recognise what happens to people under pressure, or create the conditions for psychologically safer work?Rachel WingMan brings a different perspective: approach psychosocial safety with a beginner’s mind.Compliance provides an essential foundation, but a policy or training session alone does not automatically change what happens when someone is overloaded, experiencing conflict, afraid to speak up or struggling through organisational change. This session explores the gap between knowing and doing.Rachel will introduce a practical pathway that moves from understanding into experience, conversation, practice, review and repetition. Rather than expecting organisations to find a perfect solution immediately, the approach encourages leaders to listen, learn, test practical actions and continuously improve how work is designed and experienced.Attendees will explore the relationship between Compliance, Capacity and Culture, and consider an important question:Do our people simply know what psychosocial safety means or are we building the capacity to practise it when it actually matters? The goal is not to provide another wellbeing checklist. It is to help leaders begin a practical learning process that can become embedded into everyday work.
