Established in 2018 as a not-for-profit, member-based organization, Hunter iF Limited is the central coordinating engine dedicated to accelerating innovation and regional transformation across Australia's Hunter Region. Born from the strategic recommendations of "The iF Report" in 2017—which engaged hundreds of local stakeholders—the organisation was initially supported by the NSW Government’s Local Innovation Network grant.

Hunter iF focuses on providing a comprehensive, cohesive, and connected regional innovation ecosystem by fostering radical collaboration, inclusivity, and connectivity. Its primary mission is to connect innovators, local businesses, and the community to unlock potential, attract investment, and drive sustainable, diversified economic growth.

To achieve this, the company spearheads vital regional initiatives. This includes producing the long-standing Hunter Innovation Festival (acquired in 2021), alongside hosting industry showcases, regional roadshows, and the forward-looking Action Summit group to turn local ideas into global exports.
