Employer of Choice: this one meant everything

We took home the Employer of Choice award at the 2026 Kiama Business Awards, and it might be the win we’re most quietly emotional about.

We built Marketing Movement to be different. As Australia’s first self-managing, profit-sharing digital marketing agency, we run on Teal organisational principles: full trust, full transparency, no rigid hierarchies, and a fully remote, flexible way of working that fits real life. Our team of 11 (nine of them women) chooses to be here because it works alongside the rest of their lives.

To be recognised for that is a big deal. This win belongs to every single person on the team.

Outstanding Employee: Jes Cochrane, this one’s for you

Our incredible Marketing Manager, Jes Cochrane, won the Outstanding Employee award. And honestly? Nobody deserves it more.

Jes is the centre of our Google Ads services, is a whole-marketing strategist, was instrumental in our Google Ads Certification, mentors many of the team, and somehow still finds time to volunteer outside of her day job (I mean, we could go on…).

She’s the person who says “leave it with me” and just makes it happen. The Outstanding Employee category might as well have been designed with her in mind.

Next stop: the 2026 IMB Bank Illawarra Business Awards

Because winning two awards clearly wasn’t enough excitement for one year, we’ve now progressed to the 2026 IMB Bank Illawarra Business Awards, with the winners announced at a gala event at the University of Wollongong in September.

The competition steps up a notch, but we’re heading in with a very full heart and one very determined team.
